Immigration And Customs Enforcement (ICE)

Course Overview:
This course was developed for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Office of Training and Development (OTD) as a distance-learning solution. It provides training in the knowledge, skills, and associated actions related to U.S. constitutional protections and ICE Office of Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) field operations policies.
The course provides high-quality, in-depth instruction on constitutional protections and policy issues, along with comprehensive opportunities for student practice and assessment.
This Virtual University (VU) learning experience features video scenarios based on legal cases and actual field incidents. It also includes links to relevant websites, contact information, and reference materials.
The course is designed in a modular format for distribution through the ICE learning management system, the VU. Individual course modules can be updated as information changes and are compliant with SCORM and Section 508 requirements.
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
Course: Introduction to the Acquisition Management System (AMS)

Course Overview:
The Acquisition Management System (AMS) establishes policy and guidance for all aspects of lifecycle acquisition management for the FAA.
The Introduction to the AMS Course was developed in the VarnerMiller Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), and is accessible to FAA employees through the Plateau eLMS.
The course uses an animation-based visual treatment inspired by the design and layout of a national newspaper.
Educational Testing Services

Course Overview:
The Department of Education’s National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) administers the Technology and Engineering Literacy (TEL) assessment to students at various grade levels throughout the United States.
VarnerMiller used a game-development framework to create assessment tasks for the NAEP TEL program. The assessment games included 3D environments, interactive 3D objects, 2D artwork and animation, immersive sound treatments, live-action video, and engaging, intuitive user interfaces.
The content and assessment exercises provided students with realistic, interactive experiences throughout the assessment process.
VarnerMiller also developed separate Hybrid Hands-On Tasks (HOTS) for delivery on tablets using HTML5. We were responsible for all artwork, programming, libraries, and the operating framework.
The program interfaced with the back-end system to capture data, load models, and run assessment tasks.
